The Ginkgo Tree.
In the devastation following the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, six Ginkgo trees were discovered to have miraculously survived the nuclear blast. Since then, they have signified endurance, survival, and hope.
The first dish is the Ginkgo dish, marking Miah’s battle with (and defeat of) cancer. He has endured surgical procedures, chemotherapy, and radiation, all while maintaining his optimistic world view. The Ginkgo tree has been our symbol for 2026 and this new chapter of adjusting to life after cancer.
