In 1912, Japan gifted the United States thousands of Cherry Blossom trees. These trees served as a recognition of their friendship, and a promise of peace between the two nations.
Miah and I’s story began under the Cherry Blossom trees in Washington, DC. We strolled along the river, chatting about life and admiring the delicate, pink petals float down all around us. It truly felt magical. In that moment, we found in each other a deep friendship. This close friendship has been the foundation of our relationship, and cherry blossoms have symbolized our beginnings as a couple.
